Our house is located in Vejer de la Frontera, one of Spain's most beautiful towns, officially classed as a "historical monument". Vejer is perched on a hill about 9 kilometres from the endless "virgin" beaches of El Palmar on the unspoilt Costa de la Luz. The tuna fishing port of Barbate is just 15 minutes by car; and the fascinating cities of Cadiz and Jerez less than 45 minutes away. Seville can be reached by car in under 90 minutes. There is also great walking country close by in natural parks such as the Alcornocales.
The town is entirely built of whitewashed houses and has an extensive mediaeval quarter of narrow cobbled streets, crowned by a castle and surrounded by fortified walls. There are many good restaurants, cafes and bars and a thriving cultural life.
Our house is only 15 minutes walking distance from the heart of the old town, yet looks out on open countryside. It has excellent modern facilities, including a silent air-conditioning/heating system, wireless broadband and UK freeview TV and radio.
In the summer months, there is a private swimming pool and social area - with panoramic views as far as Morocco - which we share with neighbouring houses.
The house accommodates 5 people comfortably. It has a spacious living room and dining area, and 3 good sized bedrooms. One of these, with full-length windows and a juliet balcony, doubles as a sunny second lounge/study. There are 2 bath/shower rooms and a large, light, fully equipped kitchen. Outside spaces comprise a spacious front patio with ceramic-top dining table and 6 chairs; a roof terrace with great views over the countryside; and a rear patio with barbecue and clothes drying apparatus.
The house can be rented for short or long periods, subject to availability.
